Responsibilities

With limited direction, conducts engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes and/or procedures
Participate significantly in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures
Contribute to project plan development, execution and reporting activities to support CoorsTek project management activities
Devise basic research methods and documents results and procedures
Operate process and test equipment with an understanding of functionality based on underlying engineering principles
Exercise responsibility for specific pieces of processing and/or analytical equipment
Work collaboratively with the Operations and Commercial sectors of the company
Participate in the company’s safety culture and continuous improvement efforts
Undertake further training to improve skills

Required

2+ years relevant experience
Or: Master's degree in Materials Science, or related Physical Science or Engineering
Basic knowledge of ceramic or materials processing, mathematics, statistics, engineering science
Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Organized, detail-oriented person necessary
Team player
Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment in designated areas
Must be able to lift 50lb. with or without reasonable accommodations

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Materials Science or Ceramic Engineering preferred or related Engineering
Experience with manufacturing processes and industrial equipment (e.g., spray drying, ball milling, forming) is preferred
