They are seeking a detail-oriented Mid-Level Accountant with media/advertising industry experience and SAP proficiency to support monthly close, revenue and expense accounting, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries, accruals, expense amortizations, reconciliations, and financial schedules
Support client billing cycles, media costs allocations, and pass-through expenses
Review/validate media plans and insertion orders for financial accuracy
Reconcile media spend, production costs, and vendor invoices
Process transactions, run reports, maintain GL accuracy
Support SAP FI/CO workflows and help troubleshoot discrepancies
Prepare P&L summaries, variance analysis, and management reporting for internal stakeholders and clients
Ensure adherence to company policies, GAAP, SOX controls (if applicable), and internal audit requirements
Partner with media planners, client services, AP/AR, and project management teams on financial accuracy and timely reporting
Identify and implement enhancements to streamline billing, close, and SAP workflows
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3–6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the media/advertising industry (Agencies, media buying, digital advertising, creative agencies, broadcast, OOH, etc.)
Hands-on SAP experience (SAP FI/CO required)
Strong understanding of media billing cycles, pass-through costs, media spend reconciliation, and client-level financials
Solid knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, and month-end financial processes
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling)
Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
Experience with media planning/buying tools (MediaOcean, Strata, Prisma, FreeWheel, Operative, etc.)
Experience with revenue recognition in project-based or retainer-based agency models
CPA or progress toward CPA a plus
Experience working in a fast-paced or multi-client environment
