Responsibilities
Guide trustees and executors through all phases of trust and estate administration
Review and interpret trust instruments, wills, and related estate planning documents
Prepare required notices, inventories, accountings, and distribution schedules
Coordinate asset marshaling, valuation, and transfer of real property, financial accounts, and business interests
Communicate with beneficiaries regarding administration status, rights, and expectations
Advise fiduciaries regarding their duties, risk management, and compliance obligations
Prepare and file petitions for probate or administration
Represent estates and fiduciaries in probate court proceedings
Oversee creditor claim management, publication requirements, and resolution of liabilities
Manage timelines and statutory deadlines to ensure compliant and efficient administration
Advise on tax implications related to estate administration and distributions
Serve as primary point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, and fiduciaries
Maintain strong professional relationships with financial institutions, courts, and outside advisors
Support senior attorneys with complex matters involving contested estates or high-net-worth clients
Assist with drafting estate-planning documents as needed
Participate in business development, client presentations, and internal process improvements
Qualification
Required
J.D. from an accredited law school; active license in the relevant state
2–7 years of experience in trusts and estates, probate, or related practice areas (flexible)
Good understanding of estate planning instruments, probate procedures, and fiduciary responsibilities
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and work with clients during sensitive situations
Proficiency with legal research tools and common estate administration software
High attention to detail and accuracy
Client-service orientation and empathy
Strong legal drafting and writing ability
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Problem-solving and practical decision-making
