Responsibilities
Identify staffing needs and lead the recruitment and hiring of technical staff
Support career development through mentorship, coaching, and performance evaluations
Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and inclusivity within the team
Monitor and manage project budgets, financial performance, and risk
Ensure contracts align with Arup’s commercial objectives and risk management standards
Lead financial communications with clients and negotiate project scope and schedule changes when needed
Drive business development efforts, including developing strategies, proposals, and client pitches
Represent Arup externally with clients and within the healthcare industry
Cultivate trusted client relationships and find opportunities for new projects
Serve as Engineer of Record and lead sophisticated healthcare projects across the region
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
Oversee interdisciplinary coordination and handle overall project team performance
Deliver high-quality electrical engineering designs for healthcare facilities
Lead quality assurance and quality control processes while implementing technical best practices
Translate client needs into technically sound, code-compliant, and innovative solutions
Support Arup’s strategic growth in the healthcare sector in the West, a key contributor to the region’s income
Play a critical leadership role in a confidential healthcare project in Phoenix
Help grow the leadership capacity and operational excellence of the Healthcare team
Strengthen Arup’s presence and reputation in the healthcare industry
Own the successful delivery of the confidential Phoenix healthcare project as a model for future growth
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering required
Minimum 15 years of experience designing electrical systems for healthcare facilities required
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months required
Minimum 8 years of experience leading multidisciplinary healthcare projects
Confirmed experience with Central Plant Design and Acute Care Renovation Projects
Deep knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations and codes
Strong commercial savvy, client relationship development, and team leadership skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Passion for sustainable design and alignment with Arup's mission and values
