Responsibilities

Possess expert knowledge in how to deploy, install, and maintain servers, routers, switches, telecommunications systems, UPS systems, and desktop PC hardware in support of customer IT infrastructure and enterprise operations
Responsible for procedural input to the planning, preparation, and execution of large projects. Manage installation and team while at the field site
Must have the ability to complete complex assignments without direction. Must coach those field engineers that are more junior and delegate work during an installation
Able to troubleshoot difficult and complex problems while in the field to complete installation successfully
Ensures that systems are implemented on schedule
Evaluate sites for the installation of equipment
Install applicable equipment (with racks if needed)
Perform onsite testing of equipment and coordinate with other engineers
Install and connect applicable cables
Coordinate pick-up and delivery of equipment
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues

Required

10+ years' experience as a field engineer supporting technical programs
Expert knowledge in how to deploy, install, and maintain servers, routers, switches, telecommunications systems, UPS systems, and desktop PC hardware
Ability to complete complex assignments without direction
Ability to coach junior field engineers and delegate work during installations
Ability to troubleshoot difficult and complex problems in the field
Ensures that systems are implemented on schedule
Evaluate sites for the installation of equipment
Install applicable equipment (with racks if needed)
Perform onsite testing of equipment and coordinate with other engineers
Install and connect applicable cables
Coordinate pick-up and delivery of equipment
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues
Working knowledge of CAT 5, CAT 6, and Fiber Optic cable, connectors, and demonstrated capability of fabricating required equipment
Experience using Remedy, VISIO, and MS Office
Top Secret/SCI w/ Poly Required
Up to 50% travel flexibility is required

Preferred

Experience in IP Related Services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP
Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches
Experience with UPS systems and AC/DC power systems, to include installation/connection
