Associate Principal Engineer - Oil & Gas

As an Associate Principal Engineer in the Oil & Gas group, you will act as a subject matter expert on complex projects, providing leadership and mentoring while ensuring compliance with technical standards and quality assurance for electrical design and engineering.

Responsibilities
Works closely with Technical Directors and the Vice President, acting as a subject matter expert on the most complex projects within the Oil & Gas group for a specific client of NEI
Guide client through the process of electrifying existing industrial oil & gas processes as the subject matter expert and client contact
Performs the review of detailed electrical design and engineering for all aspects of electric power systems of oil & gas equipment
Reviews submittals for conformance with specifications and design
Assists with the creation and enforcement of technical standards across the department
Prepares hand and computer-based calculations and models for structural designs. Employee should create a simple hand check to quantify the computer aided results
Prepares a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studies for complex projects
Performs field inspection and construction supervision services
Checks the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for overall quality and accuracy as required
Maintains a strong understanding and comprehension of applicable Codes and Standards
Attends conferences, training workshops, seminars, undergraduate, and graduate classes as appropriate for advancement and as required to maintain quality of work
Attends safety training and follows safety rules and guidelines
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Education: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
Experience: 7+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
Licensure: PE is required
Experience with oil & gas or strong power systems experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
Possesses effective written and oral communications skills
Good interpersonal and people skills
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
