Responsibilities

Provide oversight and facilities management of a property portfolio and directly manage the facilities management staff to support the portfolio
Responsible for functional capability of properties, maintenance, operation, and integrity of building systems, operations budget management and transitioning properties, buildings and suites from development and construction to operating phase
Demonstrated ability to hire, train, develop, coach, manage, reward and lead multiple direct reports and oversee the teams’ assigned properties
Ability to teach, train and mentor other members of the facilities department as necessary
Experienced leadership and management of facilities management team, maintenance staff and contractors
Technical education and hands-on experience in some or all of the following disciplines: HVAC design and engineering, electrical design and engineering, plumbing design and engineering, and other building support systems including but not limited to fire/life safety systems and security
Experience managing 24/7 operations with both union and non-union engineering and maintenance staff a plus
Proven experience with sustainability and energy conservation programs in commercial or institutional buildings required, with LEED accreditation desirable
Computer literate including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, AutoCad, CMMS, and BAS
Ability to read and understand building plans and specifications
Strong customer service focus and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with regulatory agencies, vendors, contractors, tenants and employees
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate in a clear concise manner
Extensive knowledge of financial terms and principles relating to facilities management and real estate transactions
The ability to forecast and prepare budgets and reports summarizing financial, operating and capital performance data
Organized, task and detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple deadlines
Must be flexible to travel on occasion
Must be flexible to work weekends and afterhours as necessary for any building related issues or shutdowns
Manage portfolio energy data for: GRESB, ESPM, energy disclosures, energy models, utility allocations, and energy projects
Strong interpersonal skills to establish trust, influence, collaborate and work effectively across departments within the company

Required

Bachelor's Degree in engineering, facilities management or related field required
10 plus years of progressive facilities experience

Preferred

MBA - highly preferred
Certification in facilities management a plus
