Vice President, Finance

Responsibilities

Lead the budget process including: a five-year strategic plan, annual budgets and ensuring that the process is consistent with Ipsos Group guidelines and aligned with the strategies of the North American business
Provide strong business partner support; an important element of this role is teaming with the Business Unit Leader in running the business and ensuring that it stays on track relative to all key metrics and financial goals
Provide financial management for the Business Line, and assist in the financial management of the business within North America
Responsible for preparation of management reports, budgets and forecasts in support of the Business Unit Leader
Prepare and publish the monthly financial reports
Monitor Business Unit budgets & forecasts including: Consolidating results; analyzing results per sector and/or service and communicating results to the Business Unit leader team, as appropriate; reporting results to Business Unit, Country and Regional management
Provide senior financial support on global projects including proforma analysis of project results/projections
Provide financial support for Product Development/Management and Project Management, in North America and in conjunction with the global team, specifically: working from start to finish on each key project to determine costs, providing alternatives and working with internal and external suppliers to obtain accurate and appropriate cost estimates; establishing, tracking, and analyzing key metrics; helping to identify opportunities to improve productivity and profitability
Provide Functional Leadership as part of the Canadian Finance and Accounting Team: Work well within a team environment including other financial leaders and our accounting center to provide strong leadership, guidance and collaboration
Direct, lead and provide day to day guidance and coaching to junior finance team members
Manage Ad Hoc Projects as assigned to him/her from time to time
Collaborate with external stakeholders, including auditors both internal and external

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
12+ years of progressive experience in finance, with preferably 5-7 years in a senior leadership role
Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information effectively
Proven track record of strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making
Thorough knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards
Proficiency in financial software and systems
High ethical standards and integrity in financial management practices
