Responsibilities

Conduct research, design, implement, and assess feedback control and motion planning algorithms, ensuring integration across various disciplines
Develop experiments and build prototypes to implement control algorithms, planners, and optimization techniques
Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to ensure scalable, real-time implementation of algorithms
Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to deploy algorithms from initial prototyping to production-level implementation
Engage with stakeholders across hardware, scientific, and operational teams to iterate on system design and implementation

Required

Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
5+ years of industry or academic research experience
Experience in building machine learning models for business application
5+ years of industry or academic research experience in applied research and development in robotics, with a focus on motion planning and feedback controls

Preferred

Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc
Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc
Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
Proven ability to innovate and develop robust and scalable solutions to complex robotics problems
Experience in trajectory optimization for multi-degree-of-freedom (multi-DOF) robotic systems
Experience in designing controllers using Model Predictive Control, Optimal Control, etc
Experience in developing and deploying reinforcement learning algorithms in real-world robotics applications
