Breaker Technician
Group CBS is a leader in providing power distribution products and services, serving various commercial and industrial customers. The Breaker Technician will be responsible for repairing, upgrading, and reconditioning electrical equipment, as well as providing on-site emergency repair services when needed.

Responsibilities
Ability to clean electrical parts
Ability to remove and reinstall electrical components circuit breakers with documentation
Read the breaker evaluation and work order and perform the service the customer is requesting
Ability to disassemble circuit breakers
Ability to work safely on stored energy mechanisms
Ability to follow instructions in the plating room and cold plate current carrying parts
Mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair circuit breakers
Read manuals and follow detailed instructions on adjusting equipment
Ability to read a schematic, point to point and one line wiring diagram
Test and troubleshoot electrical wiring
Ability to electrically operate a circuit breaker from a wiring schematic. (charge, close and trip)
Ability to operate a Meggar and contact resistance machine to test breaker before sending to test department for final quality check
Ability to take electrical parts off a breaker and recondition them. (aux switch, motor, relay, coils)
Ability to make sure electric parts work properly before installing on a breaker
Mentor others in department, share knowledge
Support other departments with rush or emergency jobs when needed
Helps provide mentoring and training on breakers
Must be responsible, dependable, good communication skills, customer focus, show continuous improvement
Accountable for ensuring projects are completed on time
Communicate issues with supervisor and work together on possible personal improvement or other actions to correct any issues
Understand work scope of each job and responsible for all materials for each job
Ensure safety requirements are completed and properly documented on equipment
Follow-up with supervisor after every job with a phone call, text message, or email
Responsible for ensuring project is executed to CBS standards, maintaining schedule, man-hour budget, resources, and data management
Ensure all tools and supplies are put back in place, cleaned, and well organized
Ability to be on call over the weekend for emergencies
Support department if another employee is out on vacation, sick, or PTO
Qualification
Required
High school or equivalent GED certification
Pass E-Verify or other government eligibility screening
Pass a background check with no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions within the past 5 years
Ability to use measuring tools (Vernier caliper, micrometer, tape measure, etc.)
Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits safely and make repairs
Ability to travel to some job sites if needed after being trained
Capable of lifting 50-pounds
Ability and willingness to read and study OEM manuals and technical literature
Ability to read a mechanical/electrical blueprint, a drawing, or a hand sketch
Mechanically inclined, must have your own tools
Detailed oriented, great attitude, team player, organizer
Two years of relevant electrical and mechanical experience
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems and repair
Must have ability of good house keep skills of your designated work area
Ability to work 50+ hours a week, weekends, support emergencies as needed
Ability to operate a machinery (this is a plus but not necessary)
Willingness to help keep the Breaker department neat, clean, and organized
