Social Work Associate (Family Advocacy)

Responsibilities

Works under the supervision of a social worker Family Advocacy Program (FAP) supervisor who sets the overall objectives, resources, and decisions available
Collaborates with a licensed clinical social worker in recommending treatment plans and provides case management services to include ensuring that an approved treatment plan approved is carried out by the client
Interviews clients to provide information about the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) and the incident determination process
Coordinates services with the installation Victim Advocate for resources, emergency shelter information, protective orders, and other supportive services in spouse/intimate partner cases

Required

One year of specialized experience which includes experience in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse that required the application of program policy and operations knowledge in providing social welfare services and/or assisting social workers
Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association or Military Training Network
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact
This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations
Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
One year trial/probationary period may be required
Direct deposit of pay is required
Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees
You must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-7)
