Tenet Healthcare is seeking an innovative and experienced healthcare leader for the Director of Laboratory position at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital. The role involves managing all laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering collaboration with medical staff to enhance patient care outcomes.

Responsibilities

Drive excellence and inspire the team towards exceptional patient outcomes and operational success

Manage the day to day operations ensuring a smooth and accurate flow of specimen collection processing and accurate analyses and result reporting

Keep laboratory procedures up to date by reviewing literature and recommending the purchase of appropriate equipment and/or test systems

Interact with the physician and nursing staff to facilitate meaningful and rapid test delivery systems that will support patient care needs

Provide leadership for the laboratory staff and keep them informed regarding hospital and laboratory issues

Resolve conflicts and concerns regarding inter and intra-departmental patient care and interpersonal issues

Devise appropriate and cost-effective measures that will improve the laboratory operation and assume what other duties are required to achieve the department objectives

Required

Completed a baccalaureate degree in a related science

Completed an internship for Clinical Laboratory Science or Laboratory Specialty

Current and valid license for Clinical Laboratory Science issued by the State of California Department of Health

Must complete a minimum of 12 continuing education units per year as required by licensure

Minimum of five years of laboratory or related management experience

Preferred

An advanced degree in management
