Responsibilities

Assists with monitoring boiler plant and ensuring an adequate supply of steam for heat, sterilization and other hospital requirements

Monitors fuel supplies and performs preventative maintenance

Responsible for assisting in the departmental plan for the operation, maintenance and repair of all the facility’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems

Assists in the maintenance of the facility’s buildings and grounds

Assists and materially contributes to regulatory and/or accreditation agency guidelines, requirements and recommendations

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent GED

Five years of experience

Knowledge of boiler systems, water treatment, code restrictions, HVAC equipment and auxiliaries, i.e., pumps, valves, controls and computer systems

Knowledge of plumbing, painting, carpentry, maintenance and the tools and materials used in the preventive maintenance of the facility

Knowledge of building controls

Ability to read blueprints

Preferred

Boiler Operator Training required or must obtain within 90 days
