Sr. Automation Engineer, Service Distribution

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of advanced automation systems for service distribution centers, driving high-impact projects that enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Design automation systems for greenfield, brownfield, and retrofit projects to improve operational efficiency
Manage large-scale automation projects to meet performance and cost objectives
Act as technical liaison with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers to align on project requirements
Develop and execute acceptance test plans to validate automation systems
Oversee installation and commissioning of automation projects with Facilities and operations teams
Integrate Warehouse Execution Systems with Warehouse Management Systems using APIs
Apply safety-by-design principles to automation solutions
Optimize system architecture and processes using statistical analysis and Lean Principles
Utilize CAD software and simulation tools like FlexSim for system design
Travel globally up to 30% to support project deployments and vendor collaborations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or related technical field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in automation, industrial, manufacturing, or process engineering
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, CAD software, and simulation tools like FlexSim
Expertise in leading automation and robotics projects from concept to completion
Experience with advanced material handling systems, robotics, or high-speed manufacturing
Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, and statistical analysis
Familiarity with integrating Warehouse Execution Systems and Warehouse Management Systems
Ability to apply Lean Principles to process design
Strong project management skills for handling multiple concurrent projects
Willingness to travel globally up to 30%
