Lead Manager - Environmental Engineer

Responsibilities
Act as Lead Manager and Subject Matter Expert for Environmental Compliance across OpEx and CapEx projects, collaborating with multi-functional teams to implement and manage compliance programmes in areas such as air, wastewater, stormwater, SPCC, groundwater, and hazardous waste
Identify risks, negotiate and develop innovative mitigation strategies with internal and external stakeholders—including regulatory agencies and legal counsel—to ensure project alignment with business objectives and adherence to environmental regulations
Execute and oversee compliance tasks, such as preparing reports, securing permits, managing regulatory inspections, and providing feedback on facility or process changes, while ensuring project deadlines are met
Deliver and document compliance training sessions, maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging regulations at all levels, and regularly present findings and recommendations to management and leadership teams
Support the company’s sustainability goals with a focus on regulated waste management and waste reduction initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline
Minimum five years' experience in environmental compliance, with expertise in at least one area such as air quality, wastewater, stormwater, groundwater, or hazardous waste
Ability to interpret environmental regulations, technical reports, perform calculations, and review complex project proposals
Demonstrated organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, able to work independently or as a team leader, including direct engagement with regulatory agencies
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and effective communicator across verbal, written, and presentation formats with key stakeholders
