Interpreter Scheduler (contractor temporary part time 20 hours)
The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf is seeking an Interpreter Scheduler to manage the scheduling of interpreting services. This role involves coordinating requests, communicating with interpreters, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and guidelines.

Responsibilities
Coordinate to cover requests with staff interpreters, contract interpreters and referral agencies
Be responsive to PSD staff and partner schools, agencies, and organizations (i.e. Mercy Vocational School, Greene Street Friends School, Germantown Friends School, Deaf and Hearing Communication Center) regarding interpreting services needs
Schedule interpreting assignments using scheduling software
Communicate with interpreters regarding assignments with Google suite (Gmail and Google calendar)
Respond to emails and system requests to confirm and clarify request details as needed to make sure that information is complete and accurate
Be able to respond quickly to multiple demands and triage priorities for immediate concerns as well as short and long term schedule planning
Track, monitor and adhere to consumer language needs and preferences as often as possible when arranging for services
Collaborate with PSD staff (including IEP coordinators and administrative assistants) to keep up to date information about schedules, families, and staff language needs
Upon request by Supervisor of Interpreting Services department, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams at PSD in the development of language service guidelines, policies, and practices that improve direct services
Make decisions which uphold the Interpreting Services Department's Philosophy and work towards the department's Vision
Adhere to the RID Code of Professional Conduct
Compile data and analyze trends related to interpreting services at PSD
Qualification
Required
Familiar with ADA, Act 57 and other laws relevant to interpreting and communication access
Familiar with RID/NAD CPC and local, state, national registration and certification requirements
Preferred
ASL (ASLPI score of 4 or higher preferred)
Bachelor's degree preferred
