Responsibilities

Design of in-space propulsion subsystems
Support Subsystem Integration tasks and information requests on an as-needed basis
Assist on the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of propulsion components and subsystems
Perform trade studies to select the appropriate design solution
Maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical analyses to support systems and components
Ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team performing design trades, detailed design/analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems
Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design reviews
Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent fields (systems engineering, electronics, stress/thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, quality…)

Required

Bachelor's or higher degree in mechanical engineering or in a related discipline
Mechanical CAD modeling and drafting design experience using CREO or similar software and releasing engineering through EPDM or other data management system
Understanding of mechanical and propulsion engineering principles and processes
Experience with basic drafting techniques and requirements
Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred

Experience with aerospace manufacturing
Experience with tolerance stack analysis
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
