Responsibilities

Develop, implement and manage an extremely complex schedule of academic-year field work programs across the globe and multiple international summer programs
Responsible for all aspects of the programming from inception through completion which requires quantitative analysis, independent research and proposal of resolutions
Independently design and recommend original approaches to new or specific situations which are sometimes complex in nature
Maintain and enforce existing operational policies and procedures and amend or grant exceptions to existing policies as necessary using sound judgment
Manage all program communications with students, visiting faculty, faculty, staff and outside vendors
Identify, solicit and establish relationships across the University and the community to further the development and growth of the programs
Regularly counsel and advise students though individual interactions or group presentations on program specifics
Gather and maintain student data
Address individual student concerns including emergencies that may occur during program period
Develop and manage program operating budgets and assure adherence to the budgetary limits
Set policies for budgetary expenditures and communicate polices to the program participants
Arrange for student and faculty reimbursement of program expenses and vendor payment in conjunction with School’s Business Office
Track program satisfaction through online surveys and by other means, recommend changes to the programs and implement modifications that further the success of the programs
Plans, directs and oversees programmatic activities
Develops, implements, and maintains operational policies and procedures
Manages program communications; identifies outreach potential, and promotes philanthropic and collaborative support of the program
Works closely with leadership, internal and external colleagues, and community residents to further develop and implement strategic plans
Identifies, solicits, and cultivates community partnerships and collaborations to assist in the development and growth of the program
Tracks all program activities and regularly informs leadership of progress on each initiative
Recommends structural or programmatic adjustments, changes or additions based on full knowledge of missions, goals, and objectives
Develops metrics to identify and measure the success of the program
Assists in identifying and evaluating potential future funding sources, and contributes to the submission of grants and contracts supporting the program, including the annual submission and writing of all content areas and budgetary sections of grant applications
Develops and manages the program's operating budget
Manages the administrative infrastructure of the program
Manages human resources including staffing and hiring, supervision, performance development, counseling and discipline, if warranted
Oversees and manages information systems, facilities, and space needs
May perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree in a related field and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated ability in program/project management
Advanced knowledge of current best practices in project planning, with a preference for organization and production of complex events
Keen attention to detail and an ability to work quickly within compressed timelines without error
Exemplary interpersonal skills including ability to effectively counsel students and to troubleshoot issues that arise during program planning and implementation
Ability to represent the School appropriately in dealing with vendors and faculty, including prominent visiting faculty
Proven customer service orientation and problem-solving skills
Ability to engage in collaborative management of programs
Ability to conduct research, synthesize ideas and direct program implementation
Self-directed with a can-do attitude, desire to take initiative, problem-solve and exercise independent judgement
Willingness to assume responsibility for all aspects of programs and to work irregular hours as needed
Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Strong and wide-ranging computer skills
