Inventory Specialist II

Responsibilities

Assists with maintaining centralized document control center for all accountable transactions and total visibility of assets
Receipt of materials delivered to the warehouse, both physically and in the tracking systems utilized at GA
Participates in maintaining inputs to inventory systems
Identifies common inventory to be transferred to projects
Reviews cycle count results and may assist in resolving inventory discrepancies
Compiles various routine inventory reports using appropriate computer system(s) or hard copy documents
Assists in the analysis of long-term stored materials to disposition and removal from the warehouse
Assists with investigations and analysis of inventory activities
Responds to routine verbal and written requests for information from internal sources
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
Other duties as assigned or required

Required

Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of related experience in inventory planning and control. Additional education may be substituted in lieu of experience
Must have a general understanding of inventory planning and control concepts and principles, along with a working knowledge of computer-based manufacturing systems and Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
Must be customer-focused, possess the ability to identify and analyze issues, interpret data, and demonstrate strong organizational skills to maintain the workflow within the unit
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interface with all levels of internal employees
Must have accurate reporting and documentation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel etc
Ability to lift ~65 lbs
Possession of an active driver's license
Forklift certified or ability to be and familiar with sit down and narrow aisle forklifts
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required

Preferred

Working knowledge of SAP
Experience with driving a forklift, using a pallet jack, and driving a flat bed truck
Familiarity with inventory management systems
