Director, Strategic Initiatives and Revenue Maximization, Bureau of Revenue
The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is the oldest and largest health department in the U.S., dedicated to protecting and improving the health of New Yorkers. The Director of Strategic Initiatives and Revenue Maximization will oversee strategic analyses and reporting for the Bureau of Revenue, focusing on revenue optimization and maximization efforts.

Responsibilities
Evaluate, analyze, monitor, and report on existing revenue collections to identify trends and areas for improvement. Provide team leaders with evidence-based data and recommendations for revenue enhancements. Lead the Agency's Revenue Maximization initiative
Develop Bureau-wide policies and procedures. Manage the Bureau of Revenue's system automation initiatives and reporting
Utilize effective project management techniques to ensure a seamless flow of data collection, tracking, trending and analysis to develop and monitor Bureau-wide indicators
Document progress of projects; identify potential challenges with project deadlines and the gathering of quantitative and qualitative data; make recommendations for corrective action plans as needed, so that assigned projects remain on target and deliverables are met both at the divisional and interagency level
Prepare comprehensive reports. Lead the planning and implementation of assigned projects; develop project plans; facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, milestone, schedules and deliverables. Maintain strong, collegial, and effective working relationships
Prepare and present status reports defining progress, problems, and solutions
Generate management reports, Power Point presentations, briefing documents, memos, letters, and other materials using professional language with a high attention to detail and understanding of audience and desired outcomes
Qualification
Required
A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health
A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization
A master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above. However, all candidates must have at least a master's degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience described in '2' above
Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required in '1' and '2' above
Preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, to develop effective working relationships with partner organizations, agency leadership, agency staff, and oversight agencies
Problem solving, analytical, and research skills
Ability to develop clear and concise reporting of data for agency leadership and external audiences
