Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator

The EHS Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting and promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace by developing and implementing EHS programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations.

Responsibilities
Monitor and enforce safety compliance across the manufacturing floor, including equipment operation, PPE usage, and hazardous materials handling
Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments; report findings and ensure timely corrective actions
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions
Maintain accurate EHS documentation including injury and illness records, training logs, and environmental permits
Support the rollout of new safety or environmental initiatives by helping distribute materials and track completion of training or compliance tasks
Deliver EHS training programs for new hires and existing employees (e.g., lockout/tagout, forklift safety, emergency response)
Manage hazardous waste and chemical storage in compliance with EPA and local environmental regulations
Assist with ergonomics assessments and injury prevention initiatives
Assist in writing and updating EHS procedures, policies, and programming documents (e.g., Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, Waste Management, etc.)
Collaborate with operations teams to customize programs to specific site or departmental needs
Support the facility’s ISO certification efforts, if applicable
Partner with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to integrate safety into daily production practices
Respond to internal and external EHS audits or inspections; help coordinate action plans for compliance
Track and report on key EHS metrics (e.g., incident rate, near misses, training completion, waste reduction)
Qualification
Required

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems or platforms
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA 1910 general industry standards, EPA regulations, and industrial hygiene practices
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and train shop floor employees and supervisors
2+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Preferred
Associate or bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Certification or OSHA 511, First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER, or equivalent safety certifications
