Principal Facility Siting Engineer

Responsibilities

Interpret and apply relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., API 752/753, OSHA PSM, NFPA)
Oversee and execute advanced hazard analyses for dispersion (flammable/toxic), explosion, and fire scenarios using available software tools
Visit client sites to educate clients on facility siting methodology and perform onsite activities (e.g., scenario development, congestion assessments)
Develop and review comprehensive technical reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and actionable recommendations for clients and stakeholders
Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, presenting findings and guiding risk mitigation strategies
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering professional development within the team
Support business development by preparing proposals and participating in client meetings regularly
Stay abreast of evolving regulations, standards, and modeling technologies in facility siting and process safety, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in facility siting and risk assessment reports, invoice approvals, and collections status notices promptly by Company procedures

Required

Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field
10+ years of experience in facility siting, hazard analysis, or process safety, with a proven track record in the chemical, petrochemical, and/or pharmaceutical industries
Expert proficiency in facility siting and risk assessment software (e.g., PHAST, SAFETI, ALOHA)
Demonstrated experience in project management and client relationship management
Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
Proficiency in DNV PHAST/SAFETI
Proficiency in Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) software (e.g., Gexcon FLACS, OpenFOAM, KFX)

Preferred

Master's degree in an engineering discipline
Experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Visual Basic, Python)
