Responsibilities

Perform mechanical design and detailing of bridge machinery and prepare contract plans, specifications, and estimates for movable bridges. This may include hydraulic systems
Perform field inspection of mechanical systems of movable bridges. This may include hydraulic systems
Perform CADD work to aid in the development of plans. Design in a 3D environment such as Inventor and 2D CADD experience in AutoCAD preferred
Develop effective presentation skills
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including assisting in pursuing new work and networking with staff at DOT’s/other agencies as well as other engineering firms
Be capable of performing a mixture of office and field work
Ability to perform mechanical design and detailing of bridge machinery components as one of the primary project engineers with limited guidance from Project Managers and Senior Mechanical Engineers
Ability to perform tasks on multiple, concurrent projects
Ability to show effective technical writing and presentation skills
Ability to perform field tasks at heights

Qualification

Mechanical Engineering DegreeRegistered Professional EngineerMovable Bridge DesignCADD Software ProficiencyHydraulic Systems DesignField InspectionTechnical WritingPresentation Skills

Required

Minimum of a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
Familiarity designing and inspecting movable bridge machinery in accordance with AASHTO and AREMA design standards
Ability to perform mechanical design and detailing of bridge machinery components as one of the primary project engineers with limited guidance from Project Managers and Senior Mechanical Engineers
Ability to perform tasks on multiple, concurrent projects
Ability to show effective technical writing and presentation skills
Ability to perform field tasks at heights

Preferred

Registered Professional Engineer, preferably in Florida
2D CADD experience in AutoCAD preferred
