As a Laser Operator / Laser Nester, you will run laser cutting machines, use nesting software to optimize layouts, and ensure production runs smoothly by measuring parts and interpreting blueprints.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate laser cutting machines to cut, trim, or form metal parts

Use nesting software to optimize material layouts and minimize waste

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications

Measure parts using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to confirm accuracy

Program, troubleshoot, and adjust machine settings for different materials and thicknesses

Inspect equipment and materials to identify issues and keep operations safe

Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of equipment

Conduct quality checks to ensure parts meet required standards

Safely operate forklifts and cranes when needed

Support other duties and special projects as assigned
