Field Service Technician - Installer

Responsibilities

Conduct site surveys of customer locations to ensure a successful install of Hamilton products
Troubleshoot and install large scale automated freezers, air compressors and dryers
Identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures. Orders and replaces parts as needed
Research and answer customer questions about product features, issues, and upgrades
Performs start up testing and customer training on features and general maintenance of product
Has solid knowledge of the organization’s products and services
Performs customer user training
Contributes to the R&D aspects of projects by presenting the install perspective
Provide on-site install, repairs, and quality checks
Provide remote support via phone, e-mail, and computer
Clearly and accurately complete documentation on time
Installer travel is roughly 50+% domestic travel
Regular commute to and from customer sites with ability to navigate within the region. Must follow traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring on-time arrival at customer site

Required

Understand the system. Mechanically, electronically, sensors, motors, power distribution, configurations, backups, etc
Comfortable in confined spaces and still able to be aware of the environment
Comfortable working around live and wired systems
Able to read schematics and assembly drawings
Have excellent communication skills, which are appropriate for a customer-facing role
Be hardworking and enthusiastic with exceptional attention to detail
Able to work independently with limited direction as well as in a team
Be capable of working under pressure without compromise
Must have the ability to manage and meet schedule commitments
Must be able to travel frequently and be flexible, subject to Business requirements
Willingness to work additional hours and the flexibility to work overtime as and when required
Position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
Associates degree or equivalent professional experience-based knowledge or certification
Experience in automation or similar is essential
Experience working with customers in the life science/clinical/pharmaceutical field would also be an advantage
