Responsibilities

The Aircraft Mechanic II Technician provides advanced, independent maintenance, modification, and repair of mechanical systems on the SOF GLSS rotary‑wing fleets
The duties of this title will primarily perform tasks independently and play a wide-ranging role in guidance, technical instruction, and specific skill development of less experienced employees
This candidate will possess vast and comprehensive technical expertise and specialization for aircraft mechanical maintenance work
The duties will encompass complex problem solving, effective communication skills and broad knowledge within the scope of assignments, including maintenance in support of heavy modifications, thorough troubleshooting, and ensuring all work complies with airworthiness standards while supporting SOF‑specific mission requirements
The candidate will ensure optimal functionality of aircraft through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs and inspections of all mechanical systems and components
Typical aircraft systems include landing gear, flight controls and surfaces, anti-icing systems, pneudraulic systems, engines, auxiliary power units, and ventilation and heating systems

Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred

Specific Aircraft Experience / Proven maintenance on MH‑6 / MH-47 / MH‑60 platforms, including major modification support and SOF‑specific upgrades
Ability to transition between platforms to meet mission requirements
FAA A&P license, DoD/USG certifications, or equivalent military qualifications preferred
