Financial Analyst – Grant Management

HealthPartners is a nonprofit integrated health care organization that provides health insurance and high-quality care. They are seeking a Financial Analyst to support HealthPartners Institute by managing financial analysis, reporting systems, accounting, and budgeting efforts while working collaboratively with management and team members.

Responsibilities

Productively work with all levels of management; support and assist leaders, other team members, and other areas of HealthPartners
Enhance processes and procedures to facilitate accurate and timely financial and managerial reporting and financial analysis
Maintain, develop, and support financial and managerial reporting
Assists leaders with operating and financial analysis efforts
Supports financial forecasting and budgeting processes
Prepare and submit to NIH/Funding agencies no cost extensions, carry forward requests, progress, and financial status reports
Conducts monthly meetings with investigators and/or coordinators comparing actual expenditures to budget and ensuring all costs are allowable, allocable, reasonable and necessary
Responsible for receivables related to sponsored projects. This includes invoicing, federal drawdowns and monitoring of receivable aging
Participates in special projects or studies as directed
Completes entries and assists with the monthly close process
Support purchasing contracts
Support RFP responses

Qualification

Required

BA/BS in finance, accounting, or business related field
3 years experience in finance, accounting, and/or business related field
Strong spreadsheet and computer skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff

Preferred

Experience in the health care industry
Experience with budgeting/forecasting
Knowledge of federal regulations in relation to research grants
