Responsibilities

Plan and supervise all components of government audit engagements with varying degrees of complexity
Develop an understanding of the client’s business and becomes a 'functional expert' in the area
Prepare and review work papers and perform various procedures under generally accepted auditing standards to verify accuracy and validity of client’s financial matters
Consistently demonstrates concise, accurate, and organized work paper technique
Anticipate and address client concerns and identifies and address problems promptly as they arise
Build effective working relationships with client personnel and meet time budgets and client deadlines
Mentor others and provide performance related information to managers for the content of engagement evaluations
Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, application of professional and LSL standards, proficient at researching and writing
Comply with LSL’s policies and procedures, manuals and forms
Punctually enters time and expenses to support efficient billing processes
Develop prospective contacts and relationships beneficial to the Firm
Participates in the firm recruiting program, developing a rapport with candidates
Ability to audit and accounting principles and techniques on the engagements to which assigned. These may include any or all of the following: FASB’s, GASB’s, SAS’s / SSARSs / GAAS
Monitor and check staff performance levels, ensuring that work is carried out within set deadlines, budget, and quality standards
Responsible for the development, coaching and training of all levels of staff

Required

Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a supervisory position
Five (5) years' experience in public accounting within the government auditing department demonstrating a proven progression in complexity and scope, required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams), required
Valid CPA license or actively working toward obtaining the license
Ability to audit and accounting principles and techniques on the engagements to which assigned. These may include any or all of the following: FASB's, GASB's, SAS's / SSARSs / GAAS
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
Basic understanding of industry specific audit issues which may include any of the following areas: financial statement audits, regulatory compliance, due diligence, process and controls, or assertions and agreements

Preferred

Bachelor's degree, required with a concentration in Accounting, Finance or Economics, preferred
Experience using CaseWare, preferred
Experience using Workiva, preferred
