They are seeking a Principal Database Specialist to join their Database team, responsible for maintaining the administration and support for the company-wide database infrastructure critical to daily business operations.

Responsibilities

Perform database administration and support services in Linux and Cloud platform

Implement and support infrastructure solutions in sophisticated, high-performance trading environments that demand stability, high throughput and low latency

Provide support and implementation work to application teams including database setup, migration and SQL performance analysis

Provide advice for operating policies, technical architecture and configuration of database system

Administer and manage Oracle Databases / IBM DB2 / PostgreSQL / GaussDB including monitoring, troubleshooting, installation, patching and upgrade, performance tuning, backup and recovery, stress test, capacity planning

Implement compliance standards and perform regular system compliance review and proactively assess exposure area

Maintain high system availability and ensure all database systems work properly

Manage vendor to ensure the highest quality delivery and implementation

Required

Degree holder in Computer science, Computer engineering, information technology or relevant discipline

Minimum 8 years of working experience in managing and supporting Oracle / IBM DB2 / PostgreSQL / GaussDB databases

Advanced knowledge of Oracle database including RAC, ASM, DataGuard, data partitioning, load balancing, JDBC, ODBC and integration with J2EE applications

Advanced knowledge of database high availability, partitioning, load balancing, security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards

Strong hands-on experience in shell script programming for process improvement and automation

Experiences in SQL, PL/SQL and stored procedures

Experience in system programming and administration on Linux Platform

Project management experience in sizable scale technology infrastructure implementation

Proactive, strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and analytical skills
