Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance server-side automation services using Python and Playwright for complex, headless browser-based workflows
Architect and build clean, reusable Python-based client wrappers and services that expose stable, versioned APIs for desktop clients (e.g., EMRs like Epic), enabling them to be controlled as modern, distributed services
Lead and contribute to the architectural design of our custom automation platform, ensuring new services and components integrate seamlessly, reliably, and observably with our central, custom-built Python-based orchestrator
Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies to ensure system transparency, proactive issue identification, and efficient resolution in production environments
Partner closely with product managers, data scientists, AI engineers, and other engineering teams to translate complex requirements into technical solutions and integrate automation services seamlessly into the Arbiter platform
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and conduct code reviews for junior engineers, championing best practices in Python, "code-first" automation, system design, and the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Implement comprehensive unit, integration, and functional testing strategies to ensure the highest quality and reliability of all developed automation components
Participate in interviewing and onboarding new team members, helping to grow a world-class engineering organization

Demonstrated experience leading a software product or component vision and delivery plan
Preferred
Direct experience in the healthcare industry, especially with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic) or processing clinical/claims data
Experience with Python-based desktop automation libraries (e.g., pywinauto, PyAutoGUI) for integrating with legacy clients
Familiarity with data governance and security frameworks in a regulated industry (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS) and associated services
Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes) and modern CI/CD practices
Experience with message queues or streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
