Stratas Foods LLC is the leading supplier of fats and oils to the Foodservice, Food Ingredients and Retail Private Label markets in North America. The Plant Project Engineer I will provide engineering support and project leadership for the plant, focusing on project implementation and ensuring safety and quality goals are met.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support and project leadership for the plant

Spend approximately 60% of the time on project related activities and 40% of the time on plant support activities

Project implementation, production and equipment improvement initiatives

Support the daily operations of the plant to ensure all safety and quality goals are achieved

Project management, project planning, project coordinator, purchasing, and supervision of contractors for various projects to assure completion on a timely basis within budget

Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements

Lead and assist management with appropriate training to assure regulatory compliance

Report to the Director of Engineering with a dotted line to the Plant Manager

Maintain appropriate communication/relationships with all employees, vendors, visitors

Provide the necessary safety training to contractors and others as necessary

Follow, monitor, and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations, and policies

Attend daily production/quality meetings

Provide technical support for plant processes and improvements

Observe facility operations and assist with problem solving on a regular basis

Assist management with appropriate training to assure regulatory compliance

Required

BS degree in engineering or technical related area from an accredited college/university

Proven Engineering experience of 3 – 5 years

Project management is a plus

Project management, project planning, project coordinator, purchasing, and supervision of contractors for various projects to assure completion on a timely basis within budget

Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven ability working well with people

Ability to identify critical areas for improvement and develop plans for correction

Competent in making sketches, drawings, line layouts, plans etc., and written instructions as necessary to affect equipment maintenance / repair

Participative team attitude skills with all personnel to assure production standards, safety, and sanitation levels are maintained as defined by the Mission Statement

Good skills in ammonia refrigeration, steam generation and PLC's

Good problem solving skills through team and individual efforts

Strong analytical skills

Working knowledge in personal computers (Microsoft software necessary)

Basic understanding with Allen Bradley PLC

Must have good working knowledge of general PC systems
