Responsibilities

Assisting attorneys with drafting and cite-checking legal documents to include pleadings, briefs, motions, subpoenas, and discovery
Online case research and project analysis and extensive use of client litigation management systems
Assisting attorneys with discovery phase to include expert witness research and summarizing depositions

Required

Junior level civil litigation attorney
Strong working knowledge of the rules of evidence and trial procedure
Strong communication, people and database skills
Proficiency in Excel, IPRO and/or Summation
Ability to adapt quickly to evolving circumstances
Ability to work at a rapid pace
Ability to collaborate in teams
Ability to work long hours throughout the duration of the trial
Interest in participating in multiple trials per year
Capable of high-level judgment and decision making
Strong analytical and legal reasoning skills
Close attention to details
Ability to focus on technical tasks associated with litigation databases
Excellent writing and interpersonal communications skills
Strong project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines
Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize project requirements
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a client service focus
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Licensed in North Carolina and in good standing
Willingness to travel for court appearances and other proceedings as necessary
