Engineering Intern

The Engineering Intern will support the Engineering and Sales teams by enhancing technical sales data and contributing to the development of internal tools and sales literature, gaining hands-on experience in technical communication, CAD modeling, and programming.

Responsibilities
Design and build a mechanical demonstration structure for valve performance comparison
Develop and specify a flow loop for internal valve testing
Create CAD models and engineering drawings for prototype components
Select appropriate materials and components for mechanical builds
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure manufacturability and safety of designs
Assemble and test prototypes; document performance results
Support trade show and customer engagement efforts through technical demonstration
Participate in design reviews and provide engineering documentation
Assist in root cause analysis and validation testing as needed
Create sizing and application guides for valve products
Generate or outsource application tools to simulate valve performance
Develop charts and drawings for internal tools and sales literature
Support the Engineering and Sales teams with technical documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and usability of materials
Utilize SolidWorks to create CAD models and visual assets
Assist in programming or tool development for simulation and analysis
Lead collection of physical data including product weight
Collaborate with external designers to support creation of sales literature
Present project findings and deliverables to leadership
Qualification
Required
Current college student, with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above, who is enrolled and in good standing at a Maryland higher education institution
Sophomore standing by start of internship at minimum, majoring or minoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Design, or a related discipline
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines
High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred
Solidworks experience preferred
