Responsibilities
Troubleshooting and repairing CNC control hardware and associated electro mechanical components
Reading schematics, wiring diagrams, performance specifications, and machine manuals to understand system design and operating requirements
Designing and conducting functional and operational tests to isolate faults
Making critical adjustments to component values and settings to align and tune sensitive circuits and mechanisms
Analyzing test results to pinpoint root cause failures and recommending corrective actions
Replacing faulty parts or wiring, retesting, and documenting all work performed
Installing new electronic/electro mechanical equipment and performing periodic preventive maintenance
Modifying existing control systems to add new functions or integrate updated designs, while arranging components to minimize electronic interference and facilitate easy service
Working any required shift (first, second, or third) in accordance with the UAW collective bargaining agreement
Communicating issues and status updates clearly, both verbally and in written reports, to supervisors and engineering teams
Qualification
Required
Diagnose and fix a variety of CNC and multi purpose electronic/electro mechanical control systems (e.g., Mazak 5 axis and 6 axis machines)
Analyze circuit interrelationships, plan and execute functional tests, make precise adjustments, and verify that machines operate within tight tolerances
Troubleshooting and repairing CNC control hardware and associated electro mechanical components
Reading schematics, wiring diagrams, performance specifications, and machine manuals to understand system design and operating requirements
Designing and conducting functional and operational tests to isolate faults

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access
Preferred
5 years of related experience
2 year Technical degree or equivalent in related discipline
Prior experience with machine repair such as: determining causes of malfunctions, replacing faulty parts, installing electronic and/or electro-mechanical equipment, testing control circuits and components, setting up a variety of highly sensitive, precision electronic test tools and equipment, modifying and updating existing electronic and/or electromechanical control systems or combination of systems to include new functions and latest designs, repairing multi-axis machines
Experience with Mazak mills and lathes, Mitsui Seiki mills, Hass milling machines
Experience with Tecport coating chamber, Hoffman polisher, computer controls such as Mitsubishi, Fanuc
