Postdoctoral Fellow in Inner-Ear Biology
Indiana University is seeking a motivated and creative post-doctoral fellow to join their NIH funded lab at the Indiana School of Medicine. The lab focuses on studying the pathophysiology of the inner ear using various genetic mouse models and a human stem cell-derived inner ear organoid model to understand cellular networks leading to degeneration and potential preventative molecules.
Higher Education
Responsibilities
Join our group at the Indiana School of Medicine
Study pathophysiology of the inner ear using multiple genetic mouse models and a novel human stem cell-derived 3D inner ear organoid model
Study genetically-mediated hair cell and neuronal degeneration in these model systems to determine cellular networks that lead to cell death and establish molecules that can prevent degeneration
Use experimental approaches including inner ear drug delivery, CRISPR/Cas9, single cell RNA-seq, cell culture with live cell imaging, immunohistochemistry with confocal microscopy, Ca2+ imaging, coimmunoprecipitation and proteomics
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. degree or equivalent in biomedical sciences
Ability to work with animal models
Preferred
Previous research experience in genetics and/or proteomics
