Responsibilities

Provide patient care in Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiothoracic transplantation and mechanical circulatory support
Support and contribute to a growing collaborative Academic practice, Cardiovascular Institute and the Mission of Indiana University Health and School of Medicine
Participate in scholarly activity, resident education, and system-wide quality initiatives

Required

Have an MD/DO and be board-certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
Have completed a general surgery residency program and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship OR integrated residency program, AND additional specialty training in Cardiopulmonary Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support. Preferred applicants will have a minimum of two years of employment experience following completion of training
Be licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice medicine in Indiana
Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a large dynamic health system
Commit to the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students
Have a passion for innovation and investigation in the specialty of cardiothoracic surgery
