Responsibilities

Render subject matter expert-level engineering judgements
Assess existing conditions and work closely with stakeholders to develop scopes of work
Adhere to consensus prevailing codes and standards, and applicable DOE requirements
Produce coordinated construction Contract Documents, and perform quality assurance oversight for others
Provide third-party reviews of sub-consultant designs
Provide technical support during construction and commissioning
Mentor junior design personnel

Required

Current advanced-level NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems
Expert ability with AutoCAD software
Demonstrated expert design experience in fire alarm systems for commercial and/or industrial facilities
Demonstrated expert application of consensus codes and standards to facilities designs
Demonstrated ability to apply and defend engineering judgement
Demonstrated ability to function with a sense of urgency and focus on efficiency
Demonstrated advanced-level experience working with AHJ requirements
Demonstrated expert ability in preparing and interpreting construction documents
Demonstrated ability to communicate well, both written and verbally
Demonstrated ability in coaching and mentoring junior personnel
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Science, Math or a related degree from an ABET accredited program and 8 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation

Preferred

Familiarity with A/E/C industry practices
CSI Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) certification
NFPA CFPS Certification
Demonstrated expert experience in a senior design role
Familiarity with AlarmCAD software
