The Forward Deployed AI Engineer will work closely with business users to develop tailored applications and automations, ensuring customer success through rapid prototyping and deployment.

Responsibilities
Partner with clients to deeply understand their business goals, workflows, and constraints
Use Emergent’s vibe-coding environment to design, prompt, and deploy complete applications tailored to each client’s needs
Translate non-technical requirements into structured AI instructions, integrations, and behaviors
Prototype, test, and iterate quickly — owning delivery from ideation to deployment
Work with the Emergent product and research teams to push platform boundaries — identifying gaps, hallucination issues, or new agentic behaviors worth building
Train and support customer teams, helping them become self-sufficient vibe coders
Act as the voice of the customer, surfacing insights and patterns that influence Emergent’s roadmap
Qualification
Required
Previous experience of 2-5 years building full-stack applications
Strong grounding in LLMs, prompt engineering, and API integration
Comfort with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript — not to write entire systems, but to debug, extend, and integrate when needed
A builder at heart — you love getting your hands dirty and delivering working systems
You can think in systems: data flows, edge cases, and user outcomes matter to you
You enjoy direct customer collaboration and can translate ambiguity into clarity and output
Preferred
Experience with tools like Claude Code, OpenAI Codex is a plus
