BAE Systems, Inc. is a leading defense, aerospace, and security company seeking candidates for a summer 2026 internship in their Electronic Systems sector. The Test Engineering Intern will develop engineering skills while supporting the design, development, and testing of advanced electronic solutions for national security applications.

Responsibilities

Support senior engineering personnel in the design, development and selection of basic hardware components utilizing fundamental electrical and mechanical engineering principles, theories and techniques

Support senior engineering personnel in the design and development of test software

Develop and revise technical drawing packages based on examples and company standards

Perform technical assignments of an investigatory, design, or test nature requiring limited analysis and evaluation, selection and application of basic engineering principles, theories and techniques

Perform hands-on troubleshooting, resolution, and implementation of change requests to update the test software/hardware that are critical to keep our production lines moving

Prepare charts, diagrams, and reports expressing technical progress and accomplishments measured against specific plans

Support of products ranging from component level to systems level analog, digital, optical, and RF units

Hands-on support and use of test instrumentation, including, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, DC/AC Power Supplies, Waveform Generators, Digital Multimeters, etc.)

Required

Pursing a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or a related STEM field

Must have completed the equivalent of Sophomore year by summer of 2026

Preferred

Ability to research and apply engineering principles and theories to solve problems

Motivated self-starter with leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Excellent problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability

Ability to close on discrete tasking in a timely manner

Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

General familiarization with operating test instrumentation/lab equipment
