Port Planning Intern (Summer 2026)

Responsibilities

Apply planning principles to provide efficient, effective, economical, and timely solutions to port planning challenges in multivariable and multidiscipline project environments
Conduct road, rail, and marine operations and infrastructure planning efforts in accordance with transportation planning standards, quality objectives, and client needs
Collect, review, and analyze a variety of planning and operational data to meet project objectives
Prepare reports, technical memos, presentations, schedules, maps, figures, diagrams, and models

Required

Must be working toward graduating or recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, or Engineering
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Ability to work independently, and as part of multi-disciplinary teams
Commitment to achieving planning excellence
A desire to learn and continually develop
Interest in the maritime industry, including global trade and supply chain trends; ocean carriers, Class I railroads, and trucking companies; and freight infrastructure and operations across a variety of modes, facilities, and commodities
Passion for freight transportation planning

Preferred

Experience with ArcGIS is a plus
