Escape Velocity Entertainment is a team of passionate developers working on an early-stage incubation project. As a Gameplay Engineer, you will collaborate with various departments to create and optimize gameplay experiences, while taking ownership of large gameplay features.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the design of our gameplay systems
Develop, modify, and debug gameplay software in script and C/C++
Deploy, optimize and test gameplay software on PC
Collaborate with other internal departments (art, design, audio, QA, etc.)
Document software and features for internal and external teams
Participate in the code review process

Qualification

C/C++Unreal Engine 4/5Game development experienceMath skillsProblem-solving skillsKeen interest in gamesCommunicationCreativity in problem-solvingSelf-motivated

Required

Experience developing games professionally, and shipping AAA titles
Experience using Unreal Engine 4/5
A keen analytical mind, with strong problem-solving skills
Strong C++ skills and the ability to code and architect gameplay mechanics and tools
Strong math skills
Well versed in games and the ability to articulate what is strong/weak about the design of existing games
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently
Creativity in problem-solving and the ability to think outside of the established solutions
Keen interest in games
