Responsibilities
Designing and developing mechanical systems and components for industrial manufacturing equipment using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
Conducting engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate system performance and reliability
Preparing technical drawings, schematics, reports, and specifications
Troubleshooting mechanical system issues and driving root-cause problem solving
Collaborating with engineering, operations, customer service, and sales teams to meet performance, quality, and cost targets
Supporting installation planning and addressing customer system requirements with diverse international stakeholders
Assisting in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement within a 13-person engineering team
Interfacing with shop-floor teams and working hands-on with diverse groups across all levels of the organization
Participating in cross-functional meetings to support project alignment and execution
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Strong proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
Minimum of 5+ years of engineering experience in industrial machinery, equipment design, or material handling systems
Preferred
P.Eng designation or eligibility (asset)
Experience with FEA or other engineering analysis tools
Background in industrial automation, robotics, or controls
Experience leading engineering projects or mentoring junior staff
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, shop-floor environments, and project management tools
