Software Quality Assurance Manager
ViaPath Technologies is an innovation leader in correctional technology and education solutions. They are seeking a Software Quality Assurance Manager to manage the QA staff and ensure quality and reliability testing for the organization’s products and development processes.

Responsibilities
Manage the QA team including hiring, training, scheduling, attendance, and guidance for continuous improvement
Communicates quality standards and parameters to QA team, product development team, and other appropriate staff
Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues
Implement and maintain performance monitoring programs including weekly and monthly monitoring to verify testing is being performed to standard
Reviewing the test cases to ensure the team is using accurate scenarios
Communicate deficiencies and opportunities to Director of Engineering
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
Execute SQL queries to verify test results in database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and MariaDB
Meet or exceed individual/team objectives, sprint deadlines and customer delivery deadlines
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QA and Agile teams’ processes
Fully participate in the ViaPath Agile process, which includes grooming, daily standup, planning, demo and retrospective meetings
Performs any other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Strong software quality assurance tools and best practices experience
Solid technical background and understanding of software development fundamentals
Proficient in automated software testing and working in an Agile development environment
Previous testing, troubleshooting and coding experience in a QA, Development or other technical role

A minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience
Demonstrated experience in writing and revising policy and procedures as needed
Ensure a consistent, scalable testing management process including test automation, test design, and test execution to deliver high-quality software
Drive and install a focus on quality and excellence within the QA function
Proficiency in SQL
Extensive manual testing experience working in an Agile environment and performing various types of testing, such as functional, regression, smoke, integration, load and performance
Exceptional debugging skills and ability to identify root causes of test failures
Ability to solve complex technical challenges and implement technically sound solutions
Experience testing web applications and with SOAP/REST API testing
Ability to learn quickly, transition between tasks daily and work under tight deadlines which may require off-hours
Must be accurate and detail-oriented while managing multiple responsibilities and working with in-person and remote team members
Effective presentation and verbal/written communication skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Computer Science or related technical field from a four-year college preferred; equivalent years of demonstrated experience will be considered in lieu of degree
Experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
Experience with automation development tools and technologies required. Preferred experience using Selenium Grid, GitLab, Git Extensions, Jenkins, Eclipse, Maven or TestNG
Knowledge of or experience in the following areas is a bonus: load balancing, microservice architecture, DevOps tools/methodologies such as Docker and working with a CI/CD pipeline in a cloud-based environment
