Special Projects Developer - Parish Social Ministry

The Parish Social Ministry Developer for Special Projects will develop and implement special projects and fundraising efforts, provide consultation services to parishes, and facilitate training programs to support community development.

Responsibilities

Develop, plan and implement special projects, events and fundraising efforts for the department
Provide ongoing and specialized consultation services to parishes including assessments of and recommendations for PSM programs, as well as guidance on complex client cases
Develop and communicate resources and networking in a variety of areas to parishes as needed
Design, initiate, facilitate and conduct training programs for Coordinators and Volunteers
Encourage and facilitate parish development actions and advocacy for social justice
Review and recommend financial assistance applications submitted by parishes on behalf of clients
Coordinate with parishes on application process
Participate in trainings and conferences to maintain current knowledge of resources, trends, needs and skills

Qualification

Human Services DegreeParish Social Ministry ExperienceMicrosoft Office SuiteEffective CommunicationValid NYS Driver’s LicenseMulti-tasking AbilityBilingual in Spanish/English

Required

Ability to identify priorities, multi-task and deliver independent, effective follow up
Effective communication skills especially ability to listen to a broad array of constituencies
Availability for travel across Long Island with occasional weekend/evening hours
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Valid NYS Driver's license

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Theology and/or training in a related field preferred
Previous experience as a Parish Social Ministry Coordinator a plus
Bilingual capability in Spanish/English a plus
