Senior Electrical Engineer - Test Automation

Responsibilities

Collaborate with various engineering teams to plan, coordinate, and implement automated or semi-automated test systems
Develop, maintain, and deploy software using a variety of software languages, primarily LabVIEW
Design schematics for automated test platforms and be familiar with schematics and CAD tools
Communicate software and hardware design concepts
Follow department standards for software and hardware development, including peer reviews and proper source control etiquette
Develop appropriate documentation related to designated tasks, ranging from design, test plans, root cause analysis
May be required to make brief technical presentations
Applies technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned engineering problems
Performs functional testing and troubleshooting of equipment and systems in assigned areas by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles
Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
Perform duties as assigned on site as required with opportunities for remote work

Required

Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD in engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, two or more years of experience with a master's degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education
Experience in test automation engineering, including test planning, execution, and data analysis, is required
Strong understanding of systems engineering processes, including requirements verification and validation
Experience with interpreting schematics and utilizing typical lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, DMM, power supplies, etc
Working knowledge of software principles
Working knowledge of circuits
Proficiency in LabVIEW, Python or other programming languages
Working experience with bus communication protocols and standards such as Serial (RS422,232,485), 1553, ARINC, CAN Bus and Ethernet
Must have a general understanding of computer or electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance
Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables
Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Must be willing and able to travel at least 20% of the time and work extended hours, based on program needs
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required

Preferred

Previous experience in aerospace, defense, or related industry is highly desirable
