Responsibilities
Lead the replication, integration, and extension of the FlyMAX system across robotics, software, and neuroscience domains
Integrate hardware and software components—robotics, control systems, imaging, and data pipelines—into reliable, high-performance research tools
Collaborate with neuroengineers, biologists, and mechanical engineers to translate technical innovations into research impact
Document and share new designs, workflows, and analytical tools with the broader scientific community
Qualification
Required
PhD in robotics, electrical or mechanical engineering, or a related discipline
A flexible and adaptive approach, willing to learn new technologies and techniques, and share knowledge
Proven experience integrating complex hardware and software systems—this capability is essential for success in the role
Strong software development skills applied to control systems, automation, or data acquisition
Familiarity with mechanical design and fabrication, coupled with a readiness to collaborate closely with engineers and neuroscientists
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and biological research contexts
