SUPERVISORY RECREATION SPECIALIST (YOUTH ACTIVITIES)
USAJOBS is seeking a Supervisory Recreation Specialist for Youth Activities at Hurlburt Field. The primary purpose of this position is to plan and implement an enhanced youth sports and fitness program for youth ages 5-18 and serve as assistant youth director for a very large participant population (over 8,000).

Responsibilities
Plans and implements an enhanced youth sports and fitness program for youth ages 5-18
Manages budgeting and fiscal matters pertaining to all of Youth Programs and activities
Assists Youth Director in designing, developing and guiding all Youth Programs for Hurlburt Field
Cultivates a cooperative relationship between the civilian and military communities by establishing and maintaining a liaison in the community with civic organizations, youth groups, private associations, church groups, educational institutions, national associations, and other programs administrators that may be directly or indirectly involved in program activities that are concerned with the quality of life of children and youth
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities
Manages a robust fitness program for youth of all ages

Required
U.S. Citizenship Required
Males must be registered for Selective Service
Must be able to obtain First Aid and CPR Certification
A physical examination is required for this position
This is a Supervisory position. A one-year supervisor probation period may be required
At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems
Knowledge of the range of activities and services, or participant interests and needs, and of the methods and processes involved in a Youth Sports Program
Skill in the application and utilization of knowledge in planning and carrying out a recreation center program
Skill in the effective management of financial, physical, and human resources for the Youth Sports Program
Successfully completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related
Major study -- general recreation, or one of the appropriate fields of recreation such as outdoor recreation; recreation and parks leadership; wild land recreation management; natural resources recreation; youth recreation; public, urban, or community recreation; special populations recreation; or physical education
Knowledge of oral and written communications, instructions and guidelines with skill in the effective management of financial, physical, and human resources of Youth Center programs
Skill in planning and conducting a wide variety of recreational and family programs
Ability to supervise and implement sound personnel policies, practices and procedures
Knowledge of budgeting/accounting processes including the ability to develop/establish a budget, receiving and protecting various monies, and purchasing, marketing, and long-range forecasting as directly related to the Youth Programs
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures
Skill in utilizing space allotted to meet the needs of the community and knowledge or training in personal fitness training principles and procedures as they affect the human body
