Fabrication Specialist I
Duncan Aviation is the largest, family-owned maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in the world providing complete nose-to-tail services for business aircraft. The Fabrication Specialist I fabricates aircraft parts and assemblies according to FAA requirements and company procedures, ensuring quality and accuracy in the fabrication process.

Responsibilities
With limited supervision, fabricates parts and assemblies from sheet metal, extruded aluminum, composites and other materials per FAA approved documents, and specifications and timeline requirements using all shop tooling and equipment
With limited supervision, prepares and ensures accuracy of fabricated parts for welding, riveting and other assembly processes in accordance with approved practices and procedures
With limited supervision, reads and interprets mechanical drawings and specifications
With limited supervision, makes correct and timely entries on PMA inspection sheets and other required paperwork to indicate process completion steps. Maintains personal training log
With limited supervision, uses appropriate corrosion control processes upon completion of parts and assemblies
With limited supervision, performs basic troubleshooting skills
Maintains current industry, equipment and FAA knowledge by attending factory classes, OJT and by researching and reading technical documents, trade publications, FAR's, etc. Assists lesser-experienced technicians in interpreting Company policies and the FAR's
Available to work all department alternate shifts as needed, and able to accomplish road trips within the United States and also other countries as needed
Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; respirator fit eligible
Regularly scheduled attendance required
Routinely up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; hearing sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting
Tolerates working in noisy environments
High school graduate or equivalent required
One year parts fabrication, sheet metal or related experience required
Preferred
2+ years of aircraft structures/sheet metal experience in MRO or manufacturing (Levels II–III)
Experience working in an AS9100-certified aerospace environment
Familiarity with FAA regulations related to structural repair and fabrication
Experience performing or supporting FAI and using basic inspection/quality software tools
Prior work in an ITAR/CMMC-regulated facility or defense/aerospace environment
