Responsibilities
Contribute to the architecture and scalability of Jiffy's platform, ensuring low latency, high availability, and secure operations
Build and enhance APIs and data pipelines connecting product, billing, and fulfillment systems for consistent cross-service communication
Collaborate with Product and Design to deliver customer-facing features that improve conversion rates, retention, and checkout experience
Ensure data integrity and reliability across distributed systems through resilient workflows and monitoring
Partner with DevOps to automate deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure using modern DevOps tooling
Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and technical documentation to uphold engineering quality standards
Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize backend services to handle increasing traffic and scale efficiently
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and internal frameworks
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack software development
Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Go, Java, Python, or Node.js)
Experience building RESTful and event-driven microservices at scale
Solid understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, message queues, and caching systems
Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in distributed systems
Preferred
Experience in e-commerce
Familiarity with subscription management, billing orchestration, or checkout optimization
Knowledge of security best practices and compliance (e.g., PCI, SOC 2)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Strong understanding of data modeling, API design, and asynchronous processing patterns
