Hays is seeking a Senior Technical Product Owner to lead the strategy, development, and support of travel technology systems across multiple business units. The role involves managing product roadmaps, gathering business requirements, designing new features, and overseeing functional testing to ensure successful delivery of travel software applications.

Responsibilities

Engage with stakeholders to collect and prioritize requirements for enhancements, upgrades, and new releases of travel automation systems. Manage the intake process from design through deployment, ensuring alignment with business goals

Translate business and technical requirements into detailed user stories using Agile methodologies. Document and manage these stories in tools such as Jira and oversee sprint planning and execution

Define testing criteria, create test cases, perform end-to-end testing, and validate system functionality. Support user acceptance testing and training, and maintain comprehensive documentation

Partner with operations and development teams to implement new features and technologies. Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, ensuring clear communication and alignment

Provide first-tier support for travel systems, including user management, software installations, profile administration, and API tracking. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain compliance

Support and coach other Product Owners as needed. Contribute to team development and continuous improvement initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

15+ years of experience in travel technology systems, including global distribution systems (GDS)

Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst

Deep understanding of travel reservation processes and systems

Experience with GDS technologies such as air shopping, pricing, ticketing, schedule changes, and APIs

Strong analytical and design skills

Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools like Jira

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and standards
